In 1990 Donna Garrett and Twila Ressler first had a vision for caring for wounded children.  As they watched children in this generation grow in anger, abuse and violence, they believed it was time to step out and be examples of God’s healing and love for suffering children.

Joy of Life Ministry is a non-profit organization.  Most of their children come directly from the parents.  This allows JOL to care for children who fall through the cracks of the government system.  Although JOL lose most of the financial support from government agencies, their burden is for these very emotionally troubled children who have no other place to turn.

Joy of Life Ministry believes one healed child can make an eternal difference, but they can’t do it alone.  As we join hand in hand with the church and community, hope and salvation can replace helplessness and hurt.  These children who came with broken lives can find joy in life.
